Tonight's Body Combat class was fantastic!

Ah yes, by the way:
Last year, I was a wreck, physically. My ribs and my shoulders gave me constant pains. I had stopped sports altogether. I know it's a stupid thing to do, but I was just in so much pain. I started doing sports again last summer, slowly -- up till the moment my job switched from walking all day (on tarmac => knees busted, but I could live with it) to DRIVING all day (knees, back, shoulders, hips, sciatic nerve, all screaming at me). Working shifts didn't help, either.

Now I'm back (and, funny, isn't it, how I've started posting and writing again?). I've worked hard at sports, trying to keep a rhythm. For a while I could only do cardio training. I mostly used the elliptical trainer, and added the rowing machine once my shoulders got unstuck.

Three months ago I finally felt confident enough to take classes: Body Pump, and Body Combat.

Body Pump trains strength. You lift weights on music, with other people. I like it, because it looks darn impressive, and is actually easier than similar classes that don't use weights.

Body Combat? Yes, that's just like it sounds like. Uppercuts, straight punches, kicks, jumps, you name it! It's a great stress reliever. At first I was a bit shy, but now I let go. I scream, I laugh, my muscles burn, I sweat buckets of water. I love it!

And tonight? Wow. I think I really understood some of the moves. Made them instictive. I'm still very much a beginner, and it shows; yet, at last, I can look at myself in the mirror, while punching an invisible enemy on the nose, and think: "yikes, I wouldn't want to be on this gal's bad side". It's fun. :)

Heh. It's great that you enjoy it so much, and that it makes you feel good. I know making time for exercise is important to me, and makes me feel better about life in general, so it's interesting to hear that it's the same for others.
