Censorship

Two homosexual men kissed on a prime-time show last evening. Another gay couple kissed in a trailer for another prime-time show. Nobody raised an eyebrow and, as far as I know, it didn't even get a mention in the news. I'm proud of my country! :-)

...I wonder if this would have been censored in the States.

ETA: Oh boy. Sometimes I should read out loud before posting. When I say, "they kissed in a trailer", I don't mean that they were cuddling in a camping-car. It's a video-clip kind of trailer, of course. :-D
Although I maintain that kissing in a trailer (the camping-car sort) is great fun.

They might have had it here (in the states) but I bet they'd have some kind of stupid assed warning before the show started saying something about graphic content/viewer's discresions/not suitable for kids...yaddy yadda. Where do you live? I want to move there! :)

France! A nice country with great food, no censorship on sex, and a serious lack of job.

And why wouldn't it be suitable for kids? It's not like they were groping or having hot buttsex (in a camping car). They were just... you know... kissing.

The censors in the states are scaredy cats. If they think there is the remotest chance of one parent getting upset their kid witnessed a homosexual kiss...*shakes head* It is really sad. However, they do advertise like a mofo for primetime shows where two girls are going to kiss (aka The OC). I find that really offensive that there has to be so much advertising, like.. "Oh look! Two girls kissing! It's so wrong yet so hot for our male viewers!" I should think of moving. :)

Yeah. Here we just don't give a shit about who's kissing whom, at least on TV. It's not common to see men kissing in the street yet, but TV is a good start, imho. I've seen it quite often in London, but then again, I wasn't exactly hanging around Buckingham Palace, if you see what I mean.

Censors seem to be much more severe with violence than with sex here. Imho, sex is good, so I tend to agree with them! :-D

I should think of moving. :)
If you can fix the plumbing, I've got some spare room in the staircase. ;-)
